Speculations on Zayn Malik coming back to One Direction were on fire this weekend when a few fans spotted the ex-member's bio reappearing on 1D's official website and management's official statement on his departure deleted from the official Facebook page.
While there is no word yet from the boys or their team, many loyal followers and fans have turned to Twitter to air their opinions. They used the hashtag #Zayniscomingback, which trended worldwide as soon as the rumors came out.
However, an insider confirms that the 22-year old singer is a 'little miffed' if everyone believes he's going to return to the British boy band. Malik, who is said to be pursuing a solo career was said to be bothered by the rumors going around.
The source said, "He left the band because he couldn't handle the high-profile that came into the band in the end, and he wants to get away from all that.".
Publicist Mike Navarra, in an email sent to USA Today, said that "I can confirm that Zayn is not returning to the band." Multiple sources are also mirroring Navarra's statement, saying that the band will remain a four-piece group for now.
Zayn Malik coming back isn't the only rumors currently surrounding One Direction, as many have been speculating a possible hiatus for the band after their world tour. This was debunked, however, by the boys themselves, even announcing that they will be releasing their fifth album this year and adding more dates to their On The Road Again Tour.
On the other hand, Zayn Malik dropped a cover and remix of the song 'No Type,' originally sung by Rae Sremmurd, with rapper MIC Righteous spewing a few lines. This new single could further support the news that the ex-boyband member won't really return to 1D for now, and is instead pursuing his solo career.
