Apple launched Beats' new wireless headphones, the Powerbeats2, yesterday which is Apple's take on the popular device sported by many celebrities, including Dr. Dre, Kobe Bryant, Kendall Jenner and Serena Williams.
The Powerbeats2 come in a variety of colors, ranging from green to white, and were designed to be a perfect partner for the Apple Watch. The headphones can be bought from the online Apple Store or in selected Apple retailers for $199.95.
Apple bought the headphones maker last year for almost $3 billion and introduced this model after making the acquisition. It used to feature Beat's trademark black and red color combo but it seems that the headphones were redesigned so that it can match the different colors of the Apple Watch.
With the wireless connectivity, this model is the perfect companion for wireless devices.
"Bluetooth connectivity makes the Powerbeats2 ideal for pairing with the Apple Watch, as well as mobile devices like the iPhone and iPad, and Bluetooth-equipped laptops and desktops. Apple promises a 30-foot range, with 6 hours of battery life in between charges," according to Techno Buffalo.
According to Daily Mail, Powerbeats received varying reviews over the past year, with some users arguing whether or not the headphones suffer from excessive bass which is a common complaint with the Beats products.
Powerbeats2 headphones will not just be compatible exclusively to Apple products. Reports state that the headphones will work not only on the iPhone or iPad, but with other devices that support Bluetooth 4. However, the company is focused more on growing with the Apple Watch market.
The collaboration of Apple and Beats, besides music accessories, is also in line with the former's release of Apple Music, the new streaming service set to launch on June 30. New subscribers can avail of a free membership plan for the first three months.
