Valve's DOTA 2 games has always been making headlines for the millions of users attracted to the addicting gameplay. Short for Defense of the Ancients, DOTA 2 will soon feature a new interface, among many others.
The announcement came shortly prior to the huge Electronic Entertainment Expo, which is slated to start this week. However, eager gamers won't be able to get their hands on the MOBA just yet. Details have yet to be announced regarding when the overhauled game will officially launch.
But the DOTA 2 Reborn beta will soon be available for users to try out all the changes made to the game.Valve's announcement stated, "Today we are announcing the Dota 2 Reborn beta, which brings with it a new interface, new engine, and Custom Games."
In addition, "Everything in the dashboard has been redesigned utilizing a new UI framework and the engine that powers the game has been fully replaced."
It continued, "On this page we will be giving you a preview of the new interface. Early next week we'll be talking about Custom Games, and later that week we'll conclude with various details about the new engine and launch the open beta."
Valve has yet to disclose any details about the new engine. But PC Mag speculates that the new engine will be Source 2. No one has any knowledge as of late on how the gameplay will be affected by the new engine, but hopefully it answers many users' complaints regarding game lag.
The company has continuously teased users with the new changes expected with DOTA 2 Reborn. This includes what users are able to navigate pre-game, updated strategies on inviting friends to a party, party voice chat that can now work on the game's dashboard, and overall better party management.
The Hero Browser has also been updated to help users better find their favorite heroes, or best heroes for a specific match through new filters.
Even DOTA 2 newbie players can have something to look forward to with the new upgrade. Valve's statement read, "Many of you told us that while our existing tutorials were good for teaching Dota's mechanics, they weren't great at helping new players understand why Dota is awesome."
It continued, "So we've built a new system of Guided Bot Matches, which allows a new player to jump right in and experience a full Dota game, all the while receiving guidance from an AI director."
