In a recent game trailer, gamers are treated to the newly released remake of the PC Game classic 'Half-Life', a remake that utilizes the Source engine of the Half-Life sequel Half-Life 2, Slash Gear reports.
Black Mesa is a total conversion mod that has been created using the Source engine from Half-Life 2, in order to bring new life into the original world of Gordon Freeman.
Most of the original game has already been converted to the new engine, although the team behind the free Black Mesa remake still has some work to do with the final levels when the player jumps to the planet of Xen.
Work on the remake started in 2004, after Half-Life 2 was released, and the Black Mesa team has gone to lengths to ensure they create a product fans can be proud of.
Gamers can once again look forward to meeting with the enigmatic G-man and other familiar creatures such as the headcrabs and Gonarch.
The game is currently available at the developer's website free of charge.
