George R. R. Martin: ‘Game Of Throne’ Author BEGS Fans To Stop Asking About HBO Show – It’s Not His Doing!

Since the first season started airing in 2011, the HBO show has become a landmark in television and even introduced pop culture terms like "khaleesi" ("Queen") and "Valar Morghulis" ("All Men Die"), but now, the author of the original books the show is based on, is asking fans to quit the George R. R. Martin "Game of Thrones" pestering.

The original series of books written by Martin is called "A Song of Ice and Fire," and in fact the name of the show takes after the title of the first novel; now, as the New Jersey-born author's set to release the next book of the series soon, George R. R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" patience has run out.

According to Time Magazine, George R. R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" statement came last Thursday, as the 66 year-old author wrote on his blog that he's been inundated with questions about the HBO lately, when fans should focus on the release of his next book.

The Independent reports that, while George R. R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" involvement is fairly important - he works together with showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss on stories - in fact he doesn't control much of what happens in the HBO hit show, even though he was named "the third most influential writer" in town last year by The Hollywood Reporter.

In any case, George R. R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" involvement is not nearly enough as fans would believe - so he's asking them to stop asking.

"Meanwhile, other wars are breaking out on other fronts, centered around the last few episodes of Game of Thrones," Martin wrote on his blog. "I cannot control what anyone else says or does, or make them stop saying or doing it, be it on the fannish or professional fronts. What I can control is what happens in my books, so I am going to return to that chapter I've been writing on The Winds of Winter now, thank you very much."

It is still unknown when the next George R. R. Martin "Game of Thrones" will be released, though the author's supposedly very far along in his writing.
