There are few shows as iconic of what the 90s were like (particularly the last couple of years) as the one starring James Van Der Beek as Dawson Leary that ran from 1998 to 2003, but one of its stars, Katie Holmes' "Dawson's Creek" leading lady, shuts down the possibility.
With "Full House" getting its own reboot starring older daughters Candace Cameron-Bure and Jodie Sweeten (it's unknown whether the Olsen twins will be making an appearance) and Jimmy Fallon recently reviving "Saved by the Bell" for a video that went viral, there are hopes for other beloved shows from the time - but now for Katie Holmes "Dawson's Creek."
Though, as Hollywood Life reports, the 36 year-old brunette has said in the past that there may be a chance for a Katie Holmes "Dawson's Creek" comeback (although noting that it'd be hard, considering one of the major characters, Michelle Williams' Jen, passed away in the show's final episode), it seems like the star has now changed her mind about a possible sequel to the series.
According to Us Weekly, Tom Cruise's ex wife (and the mother of his youngest daughter, Suri) recently gave an interview and, of course, she was asked about what launched her to superstardom, Katie Holmes' "Dawson's Creek," where she played young Joey Potter, the lead in the show whose affections swung between Van Der Beek's Dawson and Joshua Jackson's Pacey.
"I don't know, does it work today?" said the "Batman Begins" actress to fashion editor Joe Zee on Yahoo! Style when asked about a possible Katie Holmes "Dawson's Creek" return. "I don't want them to grow up. You know, it's kind of like your parents -- they never get out of their fifties, that's where they are."
These days, of course, the cast has gone on to do their own thing, with Holmes and Williams coming out on top - the blonde star even has three Oscar nominations under her belt ... but, unfortunately, it seems there will be no new Katie Holmes "Dawson's Creek"!
