In south London, a 14-year-old girl was sentenced to undergo an eight-month rehabilitation after physically assaulting a helpless boy. The violent incident was caught on video and went viral on the Young Rich Britain Facebook Page, leading authorities to bring her to court.
Pleading guilty, the unnamed girl was sentenced to spend 8 months in a youth offender's institution and participate in anger management sessions.
She even refused to even participate properly in the court hearing, listing her home address as "whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever."
Croydon Guardian also added that court magistrate Ken Ashken told the girl in the hearing that hers was an "extremely unpleasant assault on a vulnerable 14-year-old who did not seek to respond in any way."
"In these circumstances, despite your young age and the undoubtedly good sides that you have within you, we consider that offence is so serious, in regards to your previous offending, that a custodial sentence is justifiable," Ashken added.
Wearing a track suit and a gray top in front of lawyers and the judge, the girl was reportedly "too upset to speak" during the hearing on May 16.
The Facebook Page, Young Rich Britain posts videos of violent young Britons captured by other people harming other kids.
In this case, the girl was taunting the "vulnerable" boy while holding his shirt. She was mockingly saying, "Are you gonna cry? Are you gonna cry?" when the boy, who was even taller than her, didn't fight back.
One witness said that she was trying to stop the girl, "but she's not listening. She's going to get herself put in jail or something."
The police arrested the girl on May 14.
The girl's barrister, Kathryn Hovington said the girl "regrets her actions and was not aware of the victim's vulnerability," and apologized in her behalf.
