Teaming up for NBC's Red Nose Day fundraising campaign, Ed Sheeran and Kermit The Frog performed a soulful rendition of "The Rainbow Connection," which is a song that Kermit's known for.
Prior to performing the track, Kermit asked, "Could all you folks please call in and help to donate for kids and help them out?"
Sheeran then adds, "It would mean a lot to me. It would mean a lot to thousands of kids around the world."
Ed then joked, "But most of all, it would mean a lot to Kermit because he's not allowed to go back to the swamp unless he brings back the bacon." The Muppet then remarks, "Some green, so to speak."
Kermit then takes the first couple lines of the song as Ed strums acoustically on the guitar. Sheeran then sings the next lines, "Rainbows are visions but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide."
What makes the performance all the more adorable is how Sheeran harmonizes with Kermit's low-pitched vocals. Watch the video below.
The three-hour Red Nose Day special was aired on Thursday night. The telecast was hosted by Seth Meyers, David Duchovny, and Jane Krakowsi.
It also featured comedy sketches and other musical performances by "The Voice" season eight winner Sawyer Frederick, U2, John Mellencamp and Keith Urban, and Coldplay's "Game of Thrones: The Musical."
Other A-List celebrities like Emily Blunt, Reese Witherspoon, Michelle Rodriguez, Kellan Lutz, Jack Black, Nick Offerman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Will Ferrell, Matt Lauer and Helen Mirren are also included in the star-studded roster.
The fundraising activity aims to "raise money for impoverished children around the world and here in the U.S.," as Billboard reports.
Donations are still welcome and can be made through various ways such as visiting the Red Nose Day website, calling (844) 446-6673, or texting "GIVE" to 80077.
