Gwyneth Paltrow Food Stamps- 42-year-old actress Gwyneth Paltrow joins other participants in promoting hunger awareness and how living with limited budget of only $29 weekly really means. She accepted the #FoodBankNYCChallenge, and on Thursday she made her big challenge official.
Gwyneth Paltrow Food Stamps will mean she's going to give up her costly juices! The red meat-free, gluten-free GOOP advocate was invited by chef and her friend Mario Batali, a member of New York City's Food Bank board. Batali strongly opposes cutting food stamp benefits.
In her Twitter page, the actress posted a photo of what she purchased at the grocery store for $29 to show everyone what a normal person dependent on SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) can buy.
In her first tweet, she wrote: "This is what $29 gets you at the grocery store-what families on SNAP (i.e. food stamps) have to live on for a week."
She again tweeted: "We're walking in their shoes to see how far we get. I nominate @RidingShotgunLA to do #FoodBankNYCChallenge & donate."
Paltrow has carton of eggs, a package of tortillas, seven limes, one ear of corn, frozen peas, one carrot, one lettuce, a pack of black beans, a pack of brown rice, one garlic, one onion, a bundle of parsley, one avocado, and one tomato for her week consumption.
It seems that Gwyneth Paltrow Food Stamps will also inspire other people to join. However, to continue the challenge, the 42-year-old actress nominated her friend Los Angeles chef Roy Choi, Us reports.
With Gwyneth Paltrow Food Stamps challenge, perhaps her move can make a change.
