George Lucas, the creator of "Star Wars" and the man who has been responsible for all six films of the franchise so far (although he's not a part of the upcoming first film of the third trilogy, "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens") is famous for tweaking the content of the older films to include more things - and now, fans will get the "Star Wars" digital movie collection right at home!

The biggest fans of the franchise probably already have al six films on Blu-Ray, but now they have the chance to improve their "Star Wars" digital movie collection as the two trilogies are available for purchase in Amazon and Google Play, among others.

The new announcement about the "Star Wars" digital movie collection was made earlier this week through the franchise's website StarWars.com, in a joint effort between Walt Disney Studios, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox.

As USA Today reports, all six films - from the 1977 classic "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" until the 2005 episode VII, "The Revenge of the Sith" - will be available so fans can create their "Star Wars" digital movie collection in all major digital content sites, where fans will also get new bonus content.

As a matter of fact, if you purchase the "Star Wars" digital movie collection on Xbox, you earn a digital R2-D2 to accompany the Xbox Live avatar.

Fans can purchase the collection as a whole or each of the movies individually.

"Since the debut of the first film nearly 40 years ago, Star Wars has become a worldwide phenomenon with legions of fans from every generation," said Alan Bergman, the president of Walt Disney Studios, according to The Verge. "It's only fitting that audiences enjoy this legendary saga and its many fascinating behind-the-scenes stories on a wide variety of platforms, and we're very excited to finally bring all six films to Digital HD for the first time."
