Kyle Busch Misses Daytona 500 Due to His Hard Crash

Kyle Busch, a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, will miss the season opening of Daytona 500 after suffering from a leg injury because of the hard crash at Daytona International Speedway last February 21, 2015. Due to this, according to USA Today, Busch and his wife, Samantha considered watching Daytona 500 from his room at Halifax Medical Center, which is just located across the street from the 2.5 mile superspeedway where he got injured.

Samantha Busch tweeted with a photo of them huddled in the bed with their pet dog.

Kyle broke his right leg as well as left foot in the crash during the Xfinity Series race when his car was left the track, veered across the huge swath of grass and careened head-on into the concrete wall without the safer barrier.

On Saturday night, he had surgery on his leg. Joe Gibbs, the team owner, stated that his foot would still be under observation after he was transferred back to Charlotte area. He didn't have a timeline on when the driver would return for racing.

NASCAR reported that on Sunday morning, the Vice President marketing Ed Laukes, guest experience and performance for the Toyota Motor Sales stated that Kyle is the key member of the Toyota NASCAR family and this goes without saying that everyone at TRD or Toyota Racing Development has Kyle in their prayers and thoughts. He described Kyle as a tough competitor because everyone will find motorsports and they are confident that he will recover fast and get back on the track to win.

Ryan Reed of Roush Fenway Racing won the race to score his very first win the series. Currently, Kyle Busch is still under the recovery process and wanted to get back on the track at the soonest date to do his passion.
