Teens survive Maine woods sub-zero temperature after they spent overnight without food and water. The two boys were found safe the following day albeit they were feeling so hungry when they were stuck in the deep snow.  The two teenagers were headed to their grandfather's home, when they lost their way.

The teens survive Maine woods even temperature hit below 11 in the morning that day.  The two boys identified as Ty Howard-Gotto, 15, and his friend Jonah May, 15, both of Rhode Island, according to WMTW were spotted by at about 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Gotto and May were on a snowmobile to go to their grandfather's camp in Andover Monday night.  They left Mexico at 7:30 p.m. E.T. and were expected to reach their destination at 10 p.m. but the two lost their way and was stuck in the deep snow USA Today reported.

"I am relieved as heck. It's been a long night. I've been worried stiff," Tracy Howard, Gotto's mother said. The families of the teens survive Maine woods started to become frantic after they failed to arrive in Andover.

The two searched for shelter and warmth when they got stuck until finally they found a shed and started a fire. The teens survive Maine woods by keeping calm and have presence of mind, one of the teens said. They utilized plywoods and gasoline to light a fire and covered themselves with tarps, TurnTo10 reported.

Soon after midnight the Maine game warden, Mexico Fire department and dozens of volunteers started their search to locate the two adolescents.  Gotto claimed he made a wrong turn when they left their town in Mexico.

The teens, who survived Maine woods below freezing temperature were located unharmed, feeling cold and hungry. They were found in Township C, outside Anover as JobnHire reported. The Maine game warden claimed that the two crossed Devils Den Road when they hit the wrong turn and got stuck.

Before they found a shelter, the boys tried lighting a fire by soaking socks with gasoline but it didn't work out. That was the time they move and began walking from Black Cat Road to the shores of Richardson Lake where they located a shed for them.

The teens survive Maine woods extreme temperature were not the first one to be reported. Earlier in 2011, a 14-year old teenager, Jake Denham also experienced the same fate when he got lost in the snow-capped mountain where temperature was recorded at below 17.

According to Denham, he survived the heavy snow by copying Bear Grylls surviving techniques. As cited by Daily Mail, the boy suffered a nine-hour torment, but thanks to the skills he learned from watching Man vs. Wild. The boy claimed that he is a fan of Grylls and he made a snow cave just like Grylls.

'I dug a canal, and it went up a hill, so the wind would blow over it so the wind wouldn't hit me,' Denham said.

For Denham and the teens survive Maine woods, what they experienced was lesson learned that must be taken and must never be repeated again.  The teens survive Maine woods despite below zero temperature. It was a big miracle that nothing happened to them. It's something they must be grateful about.
