‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ Review, How Did Colin Firth Action Comedy Do With Critics? [VIDEO]

Only a few months before the release of the 24th James Bond movie, the Daniel Craig-led "Spectre," audiences who love the genre could think of watching the new action and crime comedy starring Colin Firth and hitting theaters this weekend - so what are the "Kingsman: The Secret Service" reviews saying about the new movie?

According to The Daily Mail, it seems that the most notorious thing about the film, present in every "Kingsman: The Secret Service" review available online, is that the film seems to be the first one to feature current President of the United States, Barack Obama, getting killed - in a most spectacular fashion, too, as his head explodes in the action movie.

Vanity Fair's "Kingsman: The Secret Service" review says the film is quite violent but the whole thing just adds to its entertainment factor, comparing it to a previous venture by the film's director, Matthew Vaughn, who was also responsible for directing the first "Kick-Ass" movie, another violent and entertaining film.

As The Daily Beast's "Kingsman: The Secret Service" review states, the film is loosely based on a comic book series from 2012 by Mark Millar (who's responsible for penning stories like Marvel's "Civil War," "Wanted" and the aforementioned "Kick-Ass") and Dave Gibbons (the comic book artist most famous for extensively working with Alan Moore, notoriously in "Watchmen," a graphic novel that also got its own adaptation a few years ago).

The original comic is called "The Secret Service" and deals with the abduction of an environmental scientist called Mark Hammill (played in the movie, by, well, Mark Hammill) and the involvement of MI6 in a plot to rescue him.

The New York Times' "Kingsman: The Secret Service" review wasn't as amiable with the film, as it said it was so violent it made viewers yearn for "the soft touch and subtleties of Guy Ritchie," a director known for his deeply violent films such as "Snatch."

In any case, the consensus of "Kingsman: The Secret Service" reviews gives the film a total of 71 percent Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes - so it wouldn't be a bad idea to drop by the theaters and see this for Valentine's, if you're not into things like "50 Shades of Grey"!
