Julie Andrews ‘Sound Of Music’: TCM Classic Film Festival To See Reunion With Christopher Plummer!

One of the classic musicals of the 1960s, Julie Andrews' "Sound of Music" saw the beautiful actress and singer co-starring with Christopher Plummer as the two heads of the famous von Trapp family, along with all their children - and now, they're set to reunite for a rare occasion!

Fans of musicals and film classics alike are exhilarated to find out that Julie Andrews' "Sound of Music" will be one of the main dishes of this year's TCM Classic Film Festival, partly for the chance to see the re-mastered movie on the big screen, but mostly due to the fact that its two Oscar-winning stars will meet again for the first time in years.

Billboard reports that Julie Andrews' "Sound of Music" will be screened for its 50th anniversary gala, which will be hosted at the Chinese Theater as it opens the TCM Classic Film Festival, just a few weeks after the release of a Blu-ray anniversary edition of the 1965 classic.

According to website We Are Movie Geeks, the classic Julie Andrews "Sound of Music" film will be screened in the IMAX format at the famous Walk of Fame theater, as the first film in the festival that will go on from March 26 until the 29th, in Hollywood.

As Broadway World reports, the biggest news about the festival will see the two classic stars reunited in the event, as Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer walk hand in hand into the theater to celebrate the golden anniversary of the classic musical about the inception of the von Trapp family, as well as their escape from the Nazi regime over the Switzerland mountains.

Turner Classic Movies host Robert Osborne will emcee the event, as it opens the festival that in 2015 sees the theme "History According to Hollywood," featuring other restored classics like the 1939 adaptation of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," and the Ron Howard-directed Tom Hanks movie "Apollo 13."

However, without a doubt, Julie Andrews' "Sound of Music" reunion will be taking up the entire spotlight!
