Movie fans across the world can rejoice now, as the Oscar nominations 2015 snubs have reached our ears, after the announcement in the early hours of the California morning, in the biggest movie award that sees some of Hollywood's most important figures nominated this year, like Bradley Cooper, Meryl Streep and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Now, the Oscar nominations 2015 snubs are here, and not everyone is altogether that happy about it. Following a great year for movies in 2015 with films like "Birdman" and "The Imitation Game," the time has come for performers, directors, screenwriters and entire movie crews of critically successful movies to rejoice in the upcoming ceremony.
As The Washington Post reports, some of the biggest shocks of the Oscar nominations 2015 snubs include the fact that David Oyelowo, the actor who plays Martin Luther King in "Selma," wasn't included in the list of Best Actor nominees for the year. Heavily tipped in a tough year (that includes favorites Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Keaton), it was a huge shock that the British actor wasn't on the final list of nominees.
Another important Oscar nominations 2015 snub was Jennifer Aniston's performance in "Cake," as reminded by People Magazine, due to the fact that the "Friends" actress had already been nominated for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild for the performance, which has been widely called a breakthrough for Aniston, as she's mostly famous for her comedic roles.
Amazingly enough, Amy Adams, who won the Best Actress in a Comedy in the Golden Globes, didn't get any nominations either. One of the films that had been heavily tipped to sweep through awards this year, as E! Online reports, was Christopher Nola's science fiction "Interstellar," which failed to get any nods besides technical ones.
Other Oscar nominations 2015 snubs include Ava DuVernay as Best Director for "Selma," Jack Gyllenhaal's performance in "Nightcrawler," the direction by legendary Clint Eastwood in "American Sniper" (though it was nominated for Best Picture) and "The Lego Movie" getting absolutely no love in the Best Animated Feature category.
