As the biggest night in movies approaches, former host Anne Hathaway's Oscars advice is out for Neil Patrick Harris, the Broadway man who'll be leading the tune for the next Academy Awards ... even after Hathaway's hosting gig alongside James Franco was absolutely disastrous.
Does anybody remember Anne Hathaway's Oscars, co-hosting with "The Interview" star James Franco? Those who can think as far back as 2011 might remember just how forced the award ceremony was: Franco seemed like he was high the whole night and Hathaway made the extra-extra effort trying to make up for it, but may have started the new brand of celebrity loathing called "Hathahate."
So, what could Anne Hathaway's Oscars advice be to Neil Patrick Harris?
Very simple: the actress wants the "How I Met Your Mother" star to keep miles away from everything she did in the night "The King's Speech" became the best film of 2010. According to People Magazine, in a recent interview, Anne Hathaway's Oscars opinion was required of her, as she was asked what advice she could offer Harris, who is most famous for his roles in television and Broadway.
"I think it's so obvious that it doesn't even need to be identified. He'll be great. He's a natural host," said Hathaway to The New York Times in a recent interview, after being asked what she thought of the Academy picking Harris to host the 87th Academy Awards in February. Later, she was asked what advice he had for him. "Do the opposite of what I did, and you'll be fine."
The Hathaway-Franco hosting gig was one of the most panned in Oscars history, even though the Academy had been trying to lift up the moods by having the ceremony hosted by two of the younger and most talented actors in the business.
Now, the Academy has gone a different way, placing hosting genius Harris in the spot, after he's led the Tony Awards a four times and the Emmys twice, according to Hollywood Reporter.
As Harris is hardly a newbie in hosting big awards shows, it's possible he doesn't really need Anne Hathaway's Oscars advice!
