Selena Gomez, actress and singer, provoked anger as well as accusation because of her impropriety in which she exposed her ankle as she visited Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque located in Abu Dhabi. At that time she was wearing an 'abaya' and in her Instagram photo, it was clearly exposed that her ankles were showing.

There are followers of Gomez who chose to gave their comments about the act they showed in that scared place together with other celebrities who happened to be her friends also. Together with Selena Gomez was Kendall Jenner and other young celebrities like Cody Simpson who were laughing and smiling. Hence, officials consider the behavior as disrespectful because they acted intimate behavior and they also show or displayed their skin, either intentionally or unintentionally which is of course forbidden in any mosque. What they did were signs of being disrespectful to Muslims' sacred place.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque leaders said that are really disappointed with Selena, posting her photos in Instagram flaunting her tibias and fibulas, TMZ reported. In the said photos, only Selena showed her skin including her ankle.

The controversial Instagram photos are now deleted with Gomez revealed her leg, lower right down to her ankle.  One of the comments was, "Just because you're not Muslim doesn't mean you don't have to follow Muslim tradition in a Muslim place," and "The thing is, whichever religion you are, respect others and their beliefs!" Another comment based on the report of Daily Mail, "Disrecpectful! (sic) It's a religion place not a place to have fun in, so disappointed."

Selena Gomez is not the only celebrity who was warned because of such disrespectful behavior. Rihanna way back in 2013 was also asked to leave because they happened to have a photoshoot inside the compound in which is considered as prohibited.
