Cavs Ends Three-Game Losing Streak In A Win Against Hornets

Despite the absence of superstar LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers managed to end their three-game losing streak with their 91-87 win against the Charlotte Hornet on Friday night. The Cavs have found a new star in the person of Kevin Love who helped his team overcome the persistent Hornets.

The three-game losing streak without LeBron James finally came to a screeching end after Kevin Love scored 27 points and Kyrie Irving added another 23 in a hearth stopping game at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Love, a newly acquired member of the Cavs after a trade from Minnesota Timberwolves, played 38 minutes after missing one game due to severe back spasms. With the Cavs' latest win, their record now stands at 19-14. Early in the third quarter an injury scare had all the Cavs' fans on their feet after Kevin Love was unable to stand up after driving in the baseline and collided with Charlotte's Bismark Biyombo. The replay showed that Love, while driving through, appeared to have hit his knee against Biyombo, Love appeared to be in so much pain and it took him quite some time to recover and walk over to the sideline. After a physician checked his status Love came back to the floor and managed to sink three 3-point attempts in three successive possessions.

The Charlotte Hornet who's regular season record of 10-24 is lagging in both offense and defense. The Hornets' lineup is also plagued with injuries, with their star player Al Jefferson suffering a groin injury, newly acquired Lance Stephenson is still not clear to play while also sustaining a groin injury. Jefferson's alternate Bismark Biyombo did not do much on both offense and defense as well finishing the game with two points and eight rebounds.

The Cavaliers will be back on their home in a game against Dallas on Sunday. Hornets will be on the road against Orlando on Saturday night.
