Samuel L. Jackson Challenge: [+VIDEO] Famed Actor Urge Fellow Celebrities To Sing “We Ain't Gonna Stop Till People Are Free” To Protest Against Police Brutality

Samuel L. Jackson challenge Hollywood celebrities, who participated in the ALS challenge some months back to do something different. This time, with the upsurge of racism in the country, Samuel L. Jackson challenge artists to show their support in fighting racism by singing "We ain't gonna stop till people are free."

Samuel L. Jackson challenge is creating waves in the media and in the social networking sites when he posted a video to his Facebook page a petition to his fellow celebrities to join and show support to end police brutality done to black people on Saturday.

The song entitled, "We ain't gonna stop till people are free" was inspired by Eric Garner, who was killed by a white NYPD in July. The song particularly points out to violence of the racist police, News. Mic reports.

The lyrics were originally written by Luke Nephew of the Peace Poets, a "collective of artists that rejoice, examine and advocate life through music and poetry." The Samuel L. Jackson Challenge lyrics goes like this:

I can hear my neighbor cryin' 'I can't breathe'

Now I'm in the struggle and I can't leave.

Callin' out the violence of the racist police.

We ain't gonna stop, till people are free.

We ain't gonna stop, till people are free.

The Samuel L. Jackson Challenge video posted on Saturday created over 30,000 likes and shares on Sunday. As of the moment while this news is written, there are 55, 395 shares and 49, 114 likes for the Samuel L. Jackson Challenge video.

A recent Facebook user, Phoebe Foremost Nwansi said that "Dear white friends: We know it's not white people. This is about (more than a few) racist/ hateful white cops. We appreciate your support and welcome you to this fight against police brutality and abuse of power."

Miller Marun Zavs stated "Racist, ill word it a little different. When you sing against white people this segregates you and separates you from just being human. Stop the racial talk and the divide, we are all the same people. Singing againt the white cops that killed him is defining white people as different and evil."

Under Samuel L. Jackson Challenge video, thousands of facebook users had already respond and showed their support by posting their own video while singing "We ain't gonna stop till people are free."

The Samuel L. Jackson Challenge came the same day the intense protests along Washington, D.C., New York and other major cities while people shouts justice for the blacks that have been killed by police officers including Garner, Mike Brown, Tamir Rice and others.

E! News says that Samuel Jackson strong support to the black community rooted from the very start in the case of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old black unarmed teenager who was shot by a police white officer.

He took to Twitter his voice of anguish and rage when he tweeted:

Samuel L. Jackson Challenge will be most likely the same as ALS challenge that collected over $94 million. The “Pulp Fiction” actor also aims to garner support from his fellow celebrities to make social change a reality.

Prior to Samuel L. Jackson Challenge, actor Orlando Jones showed his support to the people who were denied of justice due to police cruelty. Jones created a protest video where he poured a bucket full of bullet shell casings on his head to draw attention following Michael Brown’s untimely death, according to JEZEBEL.

Apart from Samuel Jackson, other celebrities including Rihanna, Moby, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, and John Legend also took to social media their opinions about the black killings and the alarming political unrest.

Other famed athletes that include LeBron James, Reggie Bush, Kevin Garnett, Alan Anderson, Jarrett Jack, and Deron Williams had also voiced out their support for the national protest by wearing shirts with the words "I can't breathe" before their games.
