Does Cinnamon Helps Cure Diabetes? Cinnamon has been publicized to improve blood glucose levels. Several studies have shown that the use of cinnamon lowers insulin resistance by lowering the blood sugar.

Is cinnamon safe for people with diabetes? WebMd claims that cinnamon supplements are safe to be used by people with diabetes. However, extra precaution must be done by people with liver problems as it can aggravate the disease.

Cinnamon helps cure diabetes as it has been used by people with elevated blood sugar. Some uses cinnamon supplements to normalize their blood sugar. WebMd noted that Cinnamon supplements are regarded as food and not a drug so there's is any need to prove that the product is effective.

If Cinnamon helps cure diabetes is still a point of debate for medical professionals. Mayo Clinic states that a recent study find out that cinnamon supplement may be helpful for people with type 2 diabetes.

Statistics from American Diabetes Association have shown that in 2012, 9.3 of the population have diabetes that accounts to 29.1 million Americans. And out of the 29.1 million Americans, 8.1 million were diagnosed.

One study that shows Cinnamon helps cure diabetes published in Diabetes Journal was conducted in the Department of Human Nutrition, NWFP Agricultural University, Peshawar, Pakistan.

The objective of the research was to know whether cinnamon can improve blood glucose, HDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, triglyceride, and LDL cholesterol levels in people with type 2 diabetes.

The research done to determine whether cinnamon helps cure diabetes was conducted to 60 people with type 2 diabetes. There were 30 men and 30 women who consumed different proportions of cinnamon capsules for 40 days followed by 20 days of washout.

Results have shown that after 40 days, there were changes noted. There was decrease of 18 to 29 percent for serum glucose, 7 to 27 percent for LDL cholesterol, 23 to 30 percent triglyceride and decrease of 12 to 26 percent for total cholesterol levels in the blood.

The study on whether Cinnamon helps cure diabetes demonstrated that intake of 1, 3, or 6 grams of cinnamon per day can lower serum glucose, triglyceride, LDL cholesterol, and total cholesterol in people with type 2 diabetes.

The researchers suggest that people with type 2 diabetes must include cinnamon in their diet to lower danger to factors associated with cardiovascular problems and diabetes.
