Diet Update: Anti-Inflammation Diet, What You Need To Know

The Anti-Inflammation Diet aims to keep the body from inflaming although it is a natural way of the body responding to the injuries or the wounds that we get. However, the chronic inflammation is what one wants to avoid as it will deteriorate not only your body but your health in general.

Inflammation is linked to disease and conditions you don't want to experience such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart-related diseases, cancer, and anxiety. However, it was found out that different diets cause this inflammation that is why the anti-inflammation diet aims to prevent that with the following tips.

First, you have to fill your plate with a lot of vegetables as it alkalizes the body to combat over-acidity. A nutritionist and author of "The Juice Lady's Anti-Inflammation Diet", Cherie Calbom, noted that vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower and greens are the best things one could eat. Next is go gluten-free as for the past 50 years, wheat makes our body fluffy and we were not designed to handle such. Calbom shares, "It's wrecking the guts of people and many times they don't know it."

Another tip for the Anti-inflammation diet is cutting down on sugar, enjoying food in moderation and cutting back on foods from the fast food and drive through. Cutting down on sugar will let your body create less inflammation and same goes with fruits as it has fructose that could be a factor for inflammation. Also, ditch foods that are processed, packaged and those coming from fast foods.

People who will follow the anti-inflammation diet also has to reduce the consumption of meat, ditch dairy, add spices to one's food, and choose eating healthy fats. Reducing meat as in limiting your intake to four to six ounces a day will help you get healthier. Not consuming dairy will lessen those mucus-forming substances in the body that contributes to inflammation. As for the spices, all of these are anti-inflammatory as they are plant-based and eating healthy fats such as those containing Omega-3 and -6 will help you prevent yourself from getting sick.

The anti-inflammation diet is also requiring you to drink up, have some soy, eat regularly and treat yourself once in a while. Water is very important as it is of zero calories so women should drink at least 2.2 liters of water in a day while men should consume three liters. Eating regularly will cause your blood sugar levels to be balanced thus it lessens the risk of inflammation.
