Sony Pictures Five Movie Screeners Hacked by GOP: Hackers Demands Financial Documents

Earlier this week, Sony pictures five movie screeners were leaked in the internet right after they were hacked. According to the report  of Variety, among the five movies, the movie "Fury" is the top two most pirated movie having 1.2 million plus downloads last Sunday, 11 a.m.  The leak of the movie started right after the hacking of the site of Sony Pictures' servers which was happened last week.

The said five movies were the following: "Still Alice," "Mr. Turner," "Fury," a story of world war drama "To Write Love on Her Arms," and "Annie."

Because of the hacking issue, the computers being used in the studio went down. As all the computers went down the image came out in all of the computers of the employees was "Hacked by #GOP" meaning Guardians of Peace. Hence, it is concluded that the hacker was not the Republican Party.

On the employees' computer monitors, hackers were demanding access on the financial documents of the company. This is for sure in exchange of allowing the studio to have an access of their site again.  Right now the studio is doing the best they can to stay right on track. Also, the studio is investigating if there is a link that joins between North Korea and the attack.

There are also speculations that the hacking of the site was an inside job. Such rumors started because of an email sent to The Verge. Such email was suspected coming from one of the hackers.  Furthermore, the alleged hacker said that the IT security in the said studio is sloppy giving them too much freedom to get inside through the help of one of their employees.

"Sony doesn't lock their doors, physically, so we worked with other staff with similar interests to get in."
