A man form China has bought 99 iPhone 6s in order to propose to his girlfriend but according to reports, the woman opted out and said no.
China actually has this holiday, which is basically the opposite of Valentine's Day, and they call it "Single's" day. According to the reports, it is celebrated annually at November 11 because of the four lonely 1's (11/11). The event is said to be a day for singles to try to woo their special someone in life.
And so, the man from Guangzhou went ahead and proposed to his girlfriend a day before the Single's Day. The man was said to be a young programmer and his marriage proposal included the 99 iPhones that were set-up to shape like a heart where they both stood in the center.
According to Nanfang, a news publication in China, the man spent $82, 000 to make the proposal but the girl bluntly said no. They have computed the amount and estimated it cost him around two years of his salary.
However, Nanfang added that iPhones aren't the only things people buy for their loved ones during the big holiday as there are even others who buy huge diamonds and brand new cars in an attempt to buy their better half's love.
It is not yet clear what the woman told the programmer or how she rejected his proposal. Also, it has not been elaborated what the man did or what his reaction was. Reports have not yet emerged on what the man would do with the iPhones he has purchased but speculations have surfaced pressing that he might give them all back or sell them at a higher price.
The photo was first posted in Weibo where the man and the woman were surrounded by friends who were very excited about the said proposal.
