Alex Rodriguez’ Cousin Allegedly Paid By The Yankees Star $900,000 To Keep Quiet About Drug Abuse

Alex Rodriguez' cousin, Yuri Sucart, was reportedly paid with $900,000 by the New York Yankees' star, to keep mum on the baseball player's usage of performance-enhancing drugs (PED), in a report by Fox News.

Documents from June 5, 2013 were filed last week in U.S. District Court for Southern District of Florida saying that Rodriguez settled to pay Sucart $700,000 as a confidential payment that he will not divulge anything about his use of PED. Alex Rodriguez' cousin already received $200,000 from the Yankee, broken into three installments.

Alex Rodriguez' "Cousin Yuri Sucart" threatened to expose the Major league superstar's secrets unless the former coughed up "enormous sums of money," according to court papers filed last week in the district court.

In August of 2013, A-Rod was suspended for 211 games for his involvement in Biogenesis drug scandal that resulted in the suspension of 13 more Major League Baseball players. Rodriguez was able to file an appeal in January and the suspension was upheld. The length of suspension was for the entire 2014 season.

Biogenesis, an anti-aging clinic in South Florida was allegedly supplying several star players with PEDs.

In a 2009 press conference, Rodriguez admitted use of steroids. The steroids were provided by Alex Rodriguez' cousin from 2001 to 2003 as told by the baseball star.

Jeffrey Sonn, Sucart's former attorney, wrote in a 2012 letter: "Yuri, even after he was accused of being a steroid mule for you, kept your confidences of all your activities while you played for the Rangers and the Yankees."

Alex Rodriguez' "Cousin Yuri Sucart" is a suspect in the extensive federal case involving Biogenesis and Anthony Bosch, its owner. Sucart had pleaded not guilty for the case.
