Starbucks Delivery Service Announced: Coffee Right On Your Doorstep!

Starbucks Delivery Service- Now you don't have to run to Starbucks to get your favorite lattes or cappuccinos before starting your day in the office.

On Thursday, during the Seattle company's conference call, CEO Howard Schultz announced its plans to start a food and beverage delivery service late next year in selected markets, according to NBC.

Starbucks delivery service will be accessible online and in mobile app which will be launching in Portland, Oregon beginning next month to its Starbucks loyalty program members before launching nationwide. Starbucks Waterford Lakes branch is not joining the new delivery service.

In the mobile app, customers will be able to order and pay conveniently through the application where about 15 percent of its U.S.-based stores have already been using in their transactions.

"Imagine the ability to create a standing order of Starbucks delivered hot to your desk daily" Schultz stated. "That's our version of e-commerce on steroids."

Starbucks' global chief strategy officer, Matt Ryan, says that Starbucks Delivery Service is still new and it's in its 'early days' although the firm is 'moving full speed ahead' to launch the program in late 2015.

Starbucks move to initiate the delivery service is aimed at focusing on the changing needs of its customers. Schultz stressed that now it's becoming a trend and more convenient to shop online rather than going to the actual store.

During Starbucks' conference call before the announcement of the new delivery service, the company reported a deficit on its fiscal fourth quarterly results. Although there is a positive growth, the global comparable sales fell beyond the forecast.

Prior to Starbucks announcement of the new delivery system, other restaurants such as Outback Steakhouse and Taco Bell rolled out their technology advancement in their operations.

Taco Bell started its mobile app while Outback Steakhouse has announced its plans to start an online reservation app for iPad, mobile and laptop users.
