"Breakfast at Tiffany's" Townhouse - The well-known book by Truman Capote became an even better known movie in 1961. Most of the exterior scenes were shot at the townhouse that is on sale.
The famous location to "Breakfast at Tiffany's" exterior scenes and the home to Holly Golightly, is located at 169 East 71st Street. The luxury place belongs to Manhattan's Upper East Side.
As it was mentioned before, the location appeared clearly in the movie. Yet, the interior scenes where Holly appeared in different parts of her house were filmed at a studio. The only part of this townhouse that appeared there was the front.
Still, it's quite a beautiful front and it looks almost identical to how it appeared in the movie. The green and white striped awnings over the windows are the only visible difference, the rest looks untouched.
"Any time they had a street scene, the house was featured. The house is on the tourist tour of the Upper East Side," Asher Alcobi of Peter Ashe Real Estate shared and the Daily Mail noted.
The townhouse began at a price of $1,800,000 back in 2000, when it was acquired by Peter Bacanovic. Later on, in 2012, it was sold at $5,850,000. And now, it's at $8,000,000.
Yet, the New York Daily News cleared out the fact that it was priced at $10,000,000 in May, when it entered the market once again. The cutting of the price is recent.
The "Breakfast at Tiffany's" location is 3,600-square-foot and it's separated as two different duplex. It has four stories, a basement, an enclosed greenhouse, five fireplaces, a solarium, and also a large backyard.
The person who ventures to buy the townhouse will definitely have a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" experience. Although the price is rather high, the interior of the place is extremely classy and tasteful. The scenes at the studio didn't show such a different place.
