Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’ Film Might Have Found The Perfect Cast: Benedict Cumberbatch

Doctor Strange Film - "Doctor Strange" is programmed to be released in 2016. The Director is already settled, and most of the production team from Marvel. There was one key role that needed to be filled and perhaps it is now: Who will be Doctor Strange?

Doctor Strange is among Marvel's superhero films that are long awaited.

"After his career is destroyed, a brilliant but arrogant surgeon gets a new lease on life when a sorcerer takes him under his wing and trains him to defend the world against evil," IMDB describes.

Also, Doctor Strange is meant to appear in the third Avengers film. The main character and actor to portray Doctor Strange has been long discussed and still there isn't a definite actor chosen.

The first one actor that Marvel had chosen to be "Doctor Strange" was Joaquin Phoenix, who talked for months about taking on the role and later on had to drop out from the project. He couldn't commit to a multi-film contract, IGN noted and Mavel asks that from the actors.

Other choices to take on the lead were Jared Leto and Tom Hardy, but it seems like the ultimate choice now is Benedict Cumberbatch, according to Deadline.

Cumberbatch is a famous actor for portraying Sherlock Holmes in the TV series with the same name. It started in 2010 and is meant to continue all through 2015 to 2016.

Also, he portrays Alan Turing, an English mathematician and logician that helps crack the Enigma code during World War II in "The Imitation Game."

Cumberbatch is a an actor that would fit well to play Doctor Strange in the film, as he tends to play characters who are brilliant but have a hidden side to them too, Entertainment Weekly mentioned.

So, now it's a matter of patience to see if "Doctor Strange" in the film will indeed be Benedict Cumberbatch or the search will continue on.
