Tina Fey, Rob Schneider: Jan Hooks’ Death Speech Includes Harsh Critic

Tina Fey, Rob Schneider - The comedy lady spoke on Monday, Oct. 20 at the Elle's Women in Hollywood Awards about Jan Hooks, who passed away on Oct. 9 and in the meantime, compared her to Rob Schneider in a harsh way.

Tina Fey, the 44 year-old comedian, actress, writer and producer has given a speech last Monday at Elle's Women in Hollywood Awards and the emotional moment included kind words about Jan Hooks, the actress that died recently and was a guest actress in "30 Rock."

In 2010, Jan Hooks played Vera Maroney, Jenna Maroney's mother in the series.

"We needed to cast Jane Krakowski's estranged Florida dirtbag mother, and I thought, My God, do you think we could get Jan Hooks? And the answer was like, 'Yeah, you can get her.' She was living in Woodstock. And the phone was not ringing," Tina Fey shared.

And then, she also shared something quite unexpected.

"Jan should have had a bigger career. Jan deserved a big movie career. Certainly as big as Rob Schneider's f*cking career. She was a bigger star on SNL," ET online noted.

Rob Schneider on his part in now 50 years old and has appeared in movies, such as "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" (2009), "The Hot Chick" (2002), where Rachel McAdams also played one of the main roles, and then he's appeared repeatedly in Adam Sandler's movies doing smaller roles.

As for the SNL reference that Tina Fey gave, Rob Schneider has appeared in the hilarious show from 1990 to 1994, whereas Jan Hooks doubled that time by being on it from 1986 to 1994.

Then, she was also a memorable actress in "30 Rock From The Sun" from 1996 to 2000 and she played Manjula, Apu's wife in "The Simpsons" from 1997 to 2002.

Tina Fey might have been indeed harsh on Rob Schneider but she clearly made a point that needed to be done.
