Scott Foley’s New Series: The Scandal Actor Who Is Also Jennifer Garner’s Ex Will Have His Own Comedy Show!

Though the actor is mostly known for heavy television dramas (ever since those early days in 'Felicity'), Scott Foley's new series takes a leap from what audiences are used to from the actor: he's now writing a teleplay for an upcoming comedy show. Scott Foley's new series, called 'To Max and Paige,' will have him teaming up with 'Felicity' co-star and longtime friend Greg Grunberg, with whom he'll be writing the story, though the teleplay will be all Foley.

Scott Foley's new series takes him down a road audiences haven't yet seen him in: the role of a writer. This will only be Foley's second attempt at screenwriting, after the 2014 unreleased film 'Let's Kill Ward's Wife,' which he also directed; the film is also a comedy where he's teamed up with friend Greg Grunberg. Reportedly, Foley got the writing gig for the new show because of his writing debut.

Scott Foley's new series' story rings a bell to fans of the hit sitcom 'How I Met Your Mother' that ended last spring: the way the last season of the CBS show was set solely on the wedding weekend of characters Barney Stinson and Robin Scherbatsky, the entirety of 'To Max and Paige' will happen over the course of the rehearsal dinner of the wedding of characters Max and Paige.

While 'Scandal' fans might be getting scared at this point, so far there has been no indication that Scott Foley's new series will interrupt his work as Olivia Pope's love interest in the show.

Scott Foley's new series will be airing on ABC, and it will be produced by Shonda Rhimes, the woman behind successful shows like 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Scandal' and the recent hit 'How To Get Away With Murder.' Foley's gig won't only have him writing: he'll also be serving as executive producer along with Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers and Greg Grunberg.
