Philadelphia restaurants and restaurateurs have been racking up the national accolades in recent years, mainly for splashy destinations, such as Zahav and Vetri.
The latest award goes to a 38-seat BYOB on Girard Avenue in what's now known as "South Kensington." (Northern Liberties is just across the street.) It's not just any distinction.
On Tuesday, Cadence was named the best new restaurant by Food & Wine. Critic Jordana Rothman flew to 24 cities, racking up about 30,000 miles, to create the top-10 list, F&W says.
