Willie Nelson’s Braids: Sold! For $37,000 At An Auction

Willie Nelson Braids - There are things we never expect to see being sold at an auction. If asked, one of them would most probably be Willie Nelson's braids. He is famous for them, but go to the extent of selling them? And even more incredibly, someone would buy them for $37,000 dollars?

Willie Nelson is known for many things. One of them is being in the music industry for a very long time. He is 81 years-old now and he made his first record in 1956. Another reason he is recognized for is his music, obviously. He is a country artist and a very good one, a real legend. And last but not least, he is known for his braids.

He's had them for as long as most people can remember, and in the 1980's they had a red tint to them. How do we know this? Well, because those were the braids that were in an auction during the weekend.

The auction took place on Sunday in Phoenix, Arizona and the organizers told Reuters that someone bought them for the sum of $37,000 dollars as they were also the most discussed item in the auction, and with good reason.

Apparently, Willie Nelson's braids were given to Waylon Jennings in 1983 at a party hosted by June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash to celebrate Jenning's sobriety.

And, Jessi Colter, Jenning's widow said about Willie Nelson's braids some time ago, "it represented to him great love for a friend and possibly part of his healing."

Who knew Willie Nelson's braids could be so powerful? The buyer was left disclosed and was not shared in the article, but now that person owns Willie Nelson's beloved braids and a piece of the musical legend, also probably his most famous asset.

Willie Nelson's braids clearly represent a lot to him if he gave them away to a dear friend of his as Waylon Jennings was and now they belong to someone else who will probably cherish them very dearly after paying such an amount.
