You've done 'Zumba,' aerobics, running, and even depriving yourself to eat, but still that extra pounds bulging on your tummy seem so hard to get rid of. Sounds familiar?

If you've been around the internet trying to search for the best weight loss tips but still didn't succeed then why don't you just start to work out from the basics?  The easiest way to shed off some pounds is to slash out on calories.

The right weight management still boils down to counting your calories. This does not mean resorting to various fad diets, not eating at night or avoiding carbs. Calories are the unit of energy. It is the energy found in food and at the same time the energy you spent during physical activity.

It is essential that you're aware of your calorie intake and how much to cut back to maintain a desirable weight.  The key here is simple. Consuming more calories than burning it just means you're on the way to another pound.

Basically, there are 3, 500 calories in 1 pound (0.45 kilogram) of fat. If you want to lose 1 pound a week, that just means you have to get rid of 3,500 calories! This seems overwhelming, but it's not that hard to achieve it. Here's how: In a day, you have to cut-back 500 calories from your food. The equation goes like this: 500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories.

The tip is limit on high-calorie foods including all cakes, pastries, chips, softdrinks, hamburgers, chocolates and more.  Instead of eating 1 cup chocolate ice cream (285 cal), replace it with 1 ½ cups of whole strawberries (70 cal).  Why not go for sparkling water (zero cal) rather than 16 ounces Lemon lime soda with 200 cal? Skip a 425 cal Ranch-flavored Tortilla Chips (3 ounces) for a 3 ½ cups of popcorn with only 110 calories.

Simple substitution can make a lot of difference. There's a lot more ways to cut-back on calories. You just have to focus on the basic and you'll see how much calories you'll be shedding off.
