Teens Arrested Killing Chicken - More than 900 chicken were killed in a Foster Farms chicken ranch in Fresno on Sept. 20th. It was today that the Police has found and arrested the suspects of the deed.
The situation that essentially happened is that it was four young boys who apparently did this, as the authorities are reviewing at the moment. According to ABC 7, "Authorities say the four suspects broke into a Foster Farms facility near Caruthers last week by pulling back a portion of a wall and entering one of the chicken sheds. They allegedly used a golf club and another similar type instrument to kill 920 birds."
The suspects are: 18-year-old Gabriel Quintero, and another 17 and 15 year-old boys were taken into custody as well, as the officers took upon a lead on Wednesday, according to ABC News.
They are now booked with counts and felonies on animal cruelty and burglary, as well.
Not a lot more has been said by the Fresno's Sherriff department, where up to now they haven't truly explained what took these young boys to do what they did, as it is a very important question hanging. What would take a person to enter a farm and kill animals, not even one or two, but 920 chickens?
Luckily, though, not all the chickens were killed in the farm in Fresno, but it is common for Foster Farms to actually have thousands of chicken around and not just hundreds. So, at least, a lot of them are still alive and well.
The spokesman of Foster Farms spoke and shared, "This disturbs us all. It appears to be a very senseless act of animal cruelty."
Also, it has been said that they are helping the authorities by both offering a $5,000 reward to solve the case and The Animal Defense League is also offering the same amount, as well.
