Most Americans probably don't know her name, but Deepika Padukone will soon change all that.
The model, and highest-paid Bollywood star is making a foray into the Hollywood scene, as she stars alongside Vin Diesel for the upcoming sequel, "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage."
Although no one has confirmed the news yet, many are speculating that the rumors are indeed true, after the 29-year-old Indian film actress posted an interesting Instagram snap.
In the photo, Vin Diesel's face isn't seen, but it's not hard to tell that it's actually him in the photo that Deepika Padukone is hugging (she also tagged him as the photo's caption). Meanwhile, the photo's backdrop features the famous "xXx" logo of the film franchise.
Probably returning the favor and aiming to tease speculators even more, Vin Diesel also posted an Instagram photo just four days ago with Deepika Padukone.
According to Mashable, Deepika Padukone was supposed to have a role in Vin Diesel's "Fast and Furious 7," but she turned it down due to her hectic schedule.
After expressing some interest in being part of a Hollywood film in the future, it seems as though Vin Diesel took her up on her offer and got her to star in "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage."
Deepika Padukone has starred in several blockbusters including "Chennai Express," "Happy New Year," and "Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani."
"xXx" was first released in 2002. The American action-filled movie was directed by Rob Cohen, and starred Vin Diesel as Xander Cage, "a thrill seeking extreme sports enthusiast, stuntman and rebellious athlete-turned-reluctant spy for the national security agency," as described by IBN.
The Deecan Chronicle reports that a source claims, "The night after the success party of 'Tamasha,' Deepika flew to America for a meeting with Hollywood star Vin Diesel."
Reports further note that Padukone flew back to India after the meeting, and will be back in the United Stated on December 20 to finalize the deal for the new film.
