Hayley Atwell’s Agent Carter Season 2 Gets Pushed Back Over State Of The Union Address – Thanks, Obama!

It's close to a year since Hayley Atwell's Agent Carter returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to star in her own show, after making her first appearance in "Captain America: The First Avenger" and later having a cameo on "Agents of SHIELD" - and now, fans will be sad to know that the premiere of the second season will be later than expected.

Right after the second MCU female-driven show came out, Krysten Ritter's "AKA Jessica Jones" on Netflix, ABC has announced the release of the second season of Hayley Atwell's "Agent Carter" for January, but due to a major event (namely, the last-ever State of the Union speech Barack Obama will give as President), the premiere has been pushed back.

According to AV Club, the SOTU speech has been moved up, prompting ABC to change its schedule by pushing back the premiere date of Hayley Atwell's "Agent Carter" from January 5 to January 19; in part because of the President's speech and also because ABC was concerned the show wouldn't get as much audience over being released so early in the year - even though the first season came out on January 6 of this year.

As The Mary Sue reports, the schedule change on Hayley Atwell's "Agent Carter" happened as the network didn't want the White House broadcast to interrupt the series in only its second week, so they found it a better idea to just push it back for a little while.

Thanks, Obama!

According to International Business Times, by the time Hayley Atwell's "Agent Carter" is back, the character will have reached the West Coast for a new mission, where she will be facing the likes of Ken Marino as well as Chad Michael Murray's ever-unpleasant character in the show, Jack Thompson.

Well, unfortunately, that means waiting a little more for Hayley Atwell's "Agent Carter" - but if the second season's as good as the first, it might just be worth it!
