A short while, a horrific video footage of an American Journalist has just been circulated around the web. The video contained graphic images of the beheading of an American journalist. The video seems to throw message to the American government urging them to stop their interference and military operations in Iraq. The man was kneeling with the message that shows that America is his real killer.
James Wright Foley an American freelance journalist was said to be the victim in the video. Foley was reported to be kidnapped in Syria on 2012. Foley speaks on the video saying, 'I call on my friends, family members and loved ones to rise up against my real killers, the U.S. government.' Foley was just one of the many other journalists who were held captive in Syria. Another American journalist has been held captive after Foley's beheading. The man was identified to be Steven Joel Sotloff, a time magazine photojournalist who was also came missing in Syria.
The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria or commonly known as Isis is a Jihad militant group who has a stronghold of Syria and Iraq. The group has been expanding their territory hoping to get hold of their own nation that would be called, The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Fighting Jihad members who were identified as Shunni Arabs, Shia Arabs and Kurds and the war against rebellious group against the Iraqi government has been adding to the bloodshed and chaos.
The White House issued a statement saying that President Obama was notified concerning the video footage by Deputy National Security Advisor, Ben Rhodes. The statement from the White House said that the President will continue to receive updates.
Caitlin Hayden, the spokeswomen for the National Security Council expressed that they have seen the murder of James Foley and their intelligence community is authenticating the said video footage. 'If genuine, we are appalled by the brutal murder of an innocent American journalist and express our deepest condolences to his family and friends. We will provide more information when it is available,' she said.
