Beyoncé has been hit with a lawsuit from two fans who claim that they were injured during one of her Mrs. Carter Shows, last year.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the "Drunk in Love" singer is being sued for negligence by Raquel Castellanos and Gabriella Davidson, who are claiming that they suffered injuries after being trampled during the concert in Chicago, Illinois in December 2013.
The two women filed papers in Cook County Circuit Court on Tuesday against the Grammy winner, event promoters at Live Nation, and bosses at The United Center venue where the concert was held. Both women state that they are self-proclaimed "long-time fans of Beyoncé."
Court documents reveal that the women purchased general admission tickets for a show at the United Center and arrived at the concert venue a few hours early. In the lawsuit, Castellanos and Davidson stated they waited for hours outside the building in order to get seats close to the stage.
However, as more fans started to arrive, they said the other audience members grew "more anxious about how, when and where the gate(s) would be released and where ticket holders and fans were supposed to enter The United Center -- none of which was explained."
When the doors opened at 7pm the women said there was a stampede and they were knocked to the ground by a "rushing mob." The incident left both victims unconscious. They suffered from broken bones and other injuries; the two women also missed the show because they were rushed to a local hospital.
No court date has been set for the lawsuit. The amount of damages sought for is undisclosed.
Beyoncé completed her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour last month. It came in at No. 2 on Pollstar's year-end Top 20 Worldwide Tours list, grossing $188.6 million from the first 107 shows.
