The Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and his fiancee Nicole Johnson are expecting their first baby together, the couple sharing a snap set by a swimming pool, with Micheal's arms round a pregnant Nicole, the swimmer couldn't look more contented as the pair drowned up the sun.
Michael Phelps wrote in Instagram “We found out 8 weeks ago we were expecting … Today we’re over 12 weeks and it looks like we’re having a boy!!!” The 30-year-old athlete was also holding a small baby Speedo with his initials written on it in the photo.
In November 2004, Phelps was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in Salisbury, Maryland. He appealed guilty to driving while impaired and was sentenced to serve 18 months probation.
In September 2014, Michael was arrested again for the same reason - driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding charges in Baltimore, Maryland.
As a result, USA Swimming suspended him from all competitions for six months, and declared he would not be chosen to represent the United States at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in August.
Michael Phelps has been struggling hard to overcome his failures and find his way back to the swimming pool after two DUI arrests, a duty in analysis and a six-month suspension from competing.
“Haven’t had a single sip and will not have a sip,” he said. “I worked, recovered, slept, and took care of myself more than I ever had.”
The couple briefly broke up in 2012 after meeting in 2009.
Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson were engaged this past February, shortly after the swimmer left rehab and began training for the 2016 Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.
The 29-year-old, beauty queen who was crowned Miss California USA in 2010 is expecting her first child with Phelps and she is now 12 weeks pregnant.
