Surge 2015: Burger King Confirms 90s-Themed Frozen Slushie, Comeback Mania After Chicken Fries! [VIDEO]

It's been months since cult favorite soda Surge made its grand comeback after years worth of campaigning on social media, and now, the second biggest fast food chain in the world, Burger King, has announced they're joining in the bandwagon of all things 90s by adding a new Surge 2015 Frozen slushie!

Days back, Food World News reported the first rumors of a Surge 2015 slushie from the fast food giant, after their nutritional information for November was leaked for a few moments and they in fact included the new slushie - and now, the chain's finally ready to confirm it!

Burger King officially announced the Surge 2015 through a press released published on Business Wire earlier this week, as they strengthened their longtime ties to The Coca Cola Company (their soda provider for decades) to make the new slushie, dedicated particularly to those nostalgic people who loved Surge from the time it was first released in the 1990s.

"SURGE is a classic brand with a passionate, cult-like following so it's the perfect collaboration for us," said Eric Hirschhorn, the chief marketing officer for the company's North American wing when speaking about the new Surge 2015 slushie. "We are really excited to re-introduce SURGE to our guests and bring it to a new generation with a brain-freezing twist."

For the big new item, fans of the recently re-released soda can follow @SURGE and @BurgerKing on Twittter, and there's also the hashtah #SURGEComeback for those who need a more detailed account of what's happening with the drink.

As website The Roosevelts reports, Burger King went all out in their 90s nostalgia by not just bringing the world the Surge 2015 slushie, but also reaching to one of the most iconic figures from the 90s for the ad introducing their new product: Pauly Shore!

According to Fuse TV, the move to add a Surge item to Burger King menus comes only weeks after the drink hit shelves again, after having a massive online comeback exclusively through Amazon.
