Remember that time long past in your childhood when you could get toys from your favorite cereal box, which often than not featured little games? The time has come back now that the release date for the widely awaited return of George Lucas' space tale - and you can get "Star Wars" cereal right now!
With the release of "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" barely more than a month away, General Mills has teamed up with Lucasfilm to give us the ultimate breakfast treat with the new "Star Wars" cereal, which features little droid toys inside!
As the franchise's website announced a little while back, the new "Star Wars" cereal will see the likes of R2-D2 and C-3PO coming into your breakfast bowl, as some of General Mills' most iconic boxes will now have free little "Droid Viewers" inside, in the likes of the two most famous droids from the franchise as well as BB-8, the mouse droid and the new BU4D and PZ-4CO.
General Mills chose the following staple products for their new "Star Wars" cereal: Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Mini Trix, Reese's Puffs, Honey Nut Cheerios, as well as Walmart special edition Cookie Crisp cereal - and the Target-exclusive specially marked boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch feature an alternate "movie-accurate" colors
According to Slash Gear, the new toys inside the "Star Wars" cereal are all kinds of awesome retro, as the toys inside include a little image from "The Force Awakens" that hasn't been seen in any posters, trailers or artwork of any kind, so obviously this is a madly exciting bit for collectors as well as fans of the franchise.
As Kare11 reports, this also means that the cereal boxes are getting a rebel-themed makeover, with the rabbit from Trix going full Leia in the special edition box.
