Server's Note to Patron For Picking Up Elderly Couple's Tab Turns Viral

A server's kind note to a patron who picked up the breakfast tab for an elderly couple at a restaurant in Victorville has gone viral.

According to Yahoo News, patron Kirsten Kinzle paid for an elderly couple's $30 breakfast at Mimi's Café in Victorville, Calif. because she thought her group had become too noisy and was ruining the pair's peaceful time together.

"You just see people sometimes that just look like a great couple and they really loved each other," Kinzle told KCAL9 Los Angeles, after her story went viral.

But the story is more than a kind gesture for being too loud. Server Stephanie Miller, who was familiar with why the couple was in that morning, wrote Kinzle a note that said she did an amazing thing because the older man recently lost his brother.

"I just want to tell you that you did an amazing thing paying for that table's breakfast," the note said. "They are in town because that man just lost his brother. So you lifted their spirits, even if just for a moment. Have a great day!"

Kinzle said after reading the note she cried and stated that she only hoped that her actions brought them a moment of happiness in their time of grief. KCAL9 Los Angeles reported that Miller also lost someone special a year to the day, which is why she wrote the note.

"I knew that if I tried to tell her the story myself I would probably start crying like a baby," Miller said.

The story has gone viral and has been shared over 1,500 times on Facebook pages.

"It really lets you see that there are truly, truly caring people out there now," Kinzle's sister said.
