Jonathan Davis Of Korn Was Shocked By U.S. President Obama's Shout-Out

On Thursday, November 12, the 44th U.S. President - Barack Obama, awarded the Medal Of Honor at the White House to a former Army captain Florent Groberg - who made determined efforts to deal with a suicide bomber in Afghanistan, and as a result was severely injured in the August 2012 attack in Afghanistan.

At the ceremony, Obama related a moment during the medically retired American military officer - Florent Groberg's recovery, when he thought he was hallucinating because the American musician famous as the frontman of the nu metal band Korn - Jonathan Davis appeared at Florent Groberg's bedside.

The first African American to hold the U.S. president's office then stated, "Florent Groberg thought, 'What's going on? Am I hallucinating?' Today, Florent Groberg, I want to convince you that you are not hallucinating. You are actually in the White House. Those cameras are on, and I am not the lead vocalist from KORN."

Florent Groberg, who's currently a civilian employee of the U.S. Department of Defense, needed 33 surgeries to save his leg after intercepting the bomber, and Florent Groberg is the tenth living service member awarded the U.S. nation's highest honor for battlefield bravery in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Jonathan Davis, who is considered "The godfather of nu metal," happened to be visiting the military bases overseas when he came face to face with the severely injured Groberg. He said that he was, "shocked and taken aback" by president Barack Obama's name-check. Jonathan Davis recalled, "I was asleep and then around six or seven in the morning, my phone starts going off. I look over and someone had just texted me 'The president just stated your name during this Medal Of Honor ceremony.' I was just like 'whatever' and went back to sleep, but my phone kept going."

Davis also said that he couldn't believe it, and it's really cool that President Barack Obama gave him respect for being there for a Medal Of Honor recipient.

"I couldn't believe it. It's really cool. The President of the United States gave me props for being there for a Medal Of Honor recipient. Groberg went through hell." In addition Davis stated, "I talk to a lot of vets who come back and are hurt. They're in disbelief and depressed but happy that they're home. It's amazing just to put a smile on their face."

Davis may not agree with the President and his politics but he said he will definitely not use the attention to pick a fight. "I'm not going to take [this moment] and make it about that. This is about Captain Groberg."
