It's been nearly 20 years since Frank Sinatra, one of the greatest stars the entertainment industry saw in the entire 20th century, passed away at age 82, breaking the hearts of millions - now, in the year he would've turned 100, there's a major Frank Sinatra tribute on the way!
After the Grammys honored artists like The Beatles and Stevie Wonder in recent tributes (which have included everyone from Dave Grohl to Beyoncé and even Ed Sheeran), it's time for The Chairman to get his big night 17 years after his passing with a new Frank Sinatra tribute.
According to Billboard, the Frank Sinatra tribute has added two more superstars to its lineup, namely Canadian singer Céline Dion (who collaborated with Ol' Blue Eyes shortly before his passing), one of the heiresses of Sinatra's Vegas tradition, and pop star turned jazz songstress Lady Gaga.
Pop Crush reports that the Frank Sinatra tribute, officially called "Sinatra 100: al All-Star Grammy Concert," will be filled with some of the biggest names in music, including "American Idol" alum and country star Carrie Underwood, Maroon 5 frontman and "The Voice" coach Adam Levine, Alicia Keys and John Legend, besides Sinatra's fellow crooning legend Tony Bennett, Zac Bron and Harry Connick Jr.
There's no word yet on whether Nancy Sinatra, Frank's daughter, will also make an appearance to honor her iconic father by playing one of his songs, though according to CBC.ca, there are still pending announcements for the Frank Sinatra tribute, which is scheduled to air just a few days ahead of what would be the star's 100th birthday on December 12.
Sinatra had one of the most iconic voices in music history, and he made a number of songs famous over the years, from his renditions of Broadway musical classics like "New York, New York" and "Luck, Be a Lady" to other songs like "The Way You Look Tonight" and "Let's Fall In Love."
The Frank Sinatra tribute will air on CBS next December 6 as a two-hour CBS special after being recorded at Wynn Las Vegas Encore Theater four days before.
