Kraft Foods is a suffering from a major shortage.
According to FOX News, Kraft Foods is experiencing a shortage of Polly-O string cheese after 735,000 sticks were recalled on Oct. 25. Markets in New York, New Jersey and Los Angeles have reportedly not received any deliveries of the string cheese product.
"The same thing that happened with Velveeta, that's what's happening with Polly-O right now," said Julio Jonel, the dairy manager at a Food Emporium grocery store in New York City. "I haven't stocked it since mid-November. Now I just found out that it may not be back until midsummer."
According to the Food and Drug Administration, Kraft Foods removed millions of packaged cheese products dated between Oct. 25, 2013, through Feb. 11, 2014, due to complaints about spoiling and discoloration before that expired time.
The recall included 22 string cheese products. The company has stopped production and is looking into the origin of the problem.
"There are many variables that could affect how products get back into stock after a recall," Joyce Hodel, a Kraft spokeswoman told FOX News. "As far as talking about our recall process, I'm afraid I can't share details as those are confidential."
Holdel added: "As we have been communicating to customers, we expect to get most of our Kraft and Polly-O String Cheese products back in stock during March this year."
Customers took to the company's Facebook page to complain about the shortage,
"My child could be the poster child for 'I only WANT Polly-o String Cheese,'" Claire Behrle, wrote on Jan. 7. "She does not like any other. At this point, we have not found it for sale since the recall. When will it be back? (did I mention she's 19 yrs.)."
In January, Kraft's Velveeta cheese experienced their own shortage.
