Here's a challenge: Try eating 300 wings in 30 minutes.
Molly Schuyler ripped through 363 wings in 30 minutes and became the Wing Bowl's 22nd champion on Friday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, according to CBS News. The just-over five foot champion was awarded $22,000 in prize money.
The 125-pound mother of four broke the previous record held by international eating star Takeru Kobayashi, who consumed 337 wings at Wing Bowl 20 in 2012. News outlets reported that Schuyler pulled off "the greatest performance in Wing Bowl history."
Schuyler defeated fellow competitive eater, Patrick Bertoletti, a Chicago native who ate 356 wings, and 2011's champ Jamie McDonald "The Bear" Anderson who consumed only 304 wings, the Philly.com reported. Fourth place was local resident, Jon Squibb, with 252 wings.
Schuyler told Philly "Sports Talk" radio host Angel Cataldi that she planned on using the money for her car payments and her kids.
"To tell you the truth, I didn't even think I was going to win this, I was looking and hoping to finish in the top three," Schuyler said. "This was freaking crazy. I kept eating and I kept saying I didn't want to know how many wings I ate until the end. I just wanted to focus on what I was doing. But I don't think I want to eat another chicken wing for a while. Hopefully I'll be back next year."
Those that participated in the chow down competition consisted of bodybuilders and NFL players, including Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, who managed only 65 wings.
"The hardest part was the speed," Kelce said. "I'm not used to eating like this early in the morning. I'm usually eating eggs and bacon. But this was awesome. It was a great experience. But the speed got me. I'm usually not a fast eater, and I know I could have gone another 14 minutes eating. But the speed factor was killing me. I've never seen anyone eat as fast as these people. It's amazing."
Schuyler devoured 186 wings during the first 14 minutes of the competition and ate another 29 wings in the final two-minutes. She is the second female to hold the Wing Bowl title. Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas, won the 2004 competition with 167 wings, according to CBS.
Schuyler had won several competitive eating competitions in 2013, including a beef patty eating championship and a fried mushroom eating contest. Schuyler made headlines for consuming a 72-ounce steak in less than three minutes.
