Maggie Smith ‘Downton Abbey’: Grantham Dowager Not Only Glad She’s Leaving ‘Downton’ Behind – She Hasn’t Even Seen The Show! [VIDEO]

80 year-old Dame Maggie Smith is one of the most respected actresses in the world, with two Academy Awards to her name and a series of very successful films and theater productions behind her as well as playing Professor Minerva McGonagall in the "Harry Potter" series - but these days, as she nears the end of another fan favorite project, Maggie Smith's "Downton Abbey" secrets are revealed.

As the last season of the widely popular period series is currently playing in the United Kingdom, Smith, who plays Dowager Countess of Grantham Violet Crawley, is doing a round of interviews on Maggie Smith's "Downton Abbey" time - and she recently made it crystal clear that she's had it with the series.

According to Mashable, the actress was recently on "The Graham Norton Show" dishing about Maggie Smith's "Downton Abbey" weeks ahead of the series finale, and she revealed that, although she owns the box set, she doesn't even watch the show.

On the same interview, the "Gosford Park" star talked about how, even though the experience had been great, she was quite relieved that the show was coming to an end after six seasons.

"I'm glad it's over, I really am," Dame Maggie told Norton about Maggie Smith's "Downton Abbey" character, according to The Mirror. "By the time we finished, [the Countess of Grantham] must have been about 110. It couldn't go on and on, it just didn't make sense."

According to Metro, impressively enough, her new interview with Graham Norton is actually the first time in over 42 years that she's been on a chat show, and her appearance more than made up for the years of absence, as she spoke about how she got recognized by a "lot of small people" since appearing on "Harry Potter" and telling a story of a young boy recognizing her while on the supermarket.

Smith is currently promoting her latest film, "The Lady in the Van," co-starring James Corden and Dominic Cooper.
