Hip-hop icon Flavor Flav was arrested on Long Island Thursday for driving without a license and speeding.
According to the Associated Press, the reality star was on the way to his mother's funeral in New York, when he was reportedly pulled over by Valley Stream officers for allegedly going 79 mph in a 55 mph zone in his black Hyundai.
The 54-year-old rapper, known as William Drayton, has 16 suspensions on his license. Police reported that a "small amount" of marijuana was found inside the rapper's car. He was charged with "felony aggravated unlicensed operation and also received unspecified traffic tickets." He was later released so he could attend the funeral.
Flavor Flav was on the way to his mother's funeral, who died on New Year's Eve, the rapper said in a tweet.
AP reported that the rapper has a court date for the Nassau County First District Court on Jan. 28. In 2002, the rapper was also arrested for driving on a suspended license.

Flavor Flav is best known as a former member of the hip-hop group Public Enemy. The rapper known for wearing a large clock around his neck, did his fair share of reality television shows including "The Surreal Life," and later his own show, "Strange Love," and "Flavor of Love."
In 1996, Flavor Flav was arrested for carrying two pounds of marijuana stuffed in his pockets.
