Wendy Williams Announces Romance Novel 'Hold Me In Contempt' to Hit Selves in April

A Wendy Williams book will be hitting the book shelves.

According to the United International Press, the daytime talk show host announced the arrival of her upcoming book, a steamy romance called "Hold Me In Contempt".

The book is reportedly scheduled to be out on April 1, under Harper Collins publishing. The TV personality recently teamed up with Karen Hunter for the "Ritz Harper" series.

This is William's first solo project. The book follows an New York assistant D.A. named, Kimberly Kind, who after struggling to succeed, could lose everything if her secret is revealed. She later becomes mixed up with a bad boy named King.

"Kimberly Kind is trying to get beyond her roots. A successful, beautiful, smart lawyer, she's finally finding direction in her life and getting out of the streets. But a terrible accident threatens to throw her carefully laid plans off course," according to the synopsis for Hold Me in Contempt, on Amazon.

"Now Kim's hiding a huge secret... one that could threaten everything. Enter King. A perfect mix of Justin Timberlake and David Beckham, the man oozes sex and has more swagger than anyone Kim's ever met. Their chemistry is off the charts. But after passion-filled nights, the intensity of their emotions takes both of them by surprise."

During an interview with the New York Daily News, Williams called the character Kim, her heroine.

"It's gritty. Kim Kind is my heroine, and she falls for a guy named King,"she said. "He's white and he's bad to the bone, and she's black and she's an assistant D.A. here in Manhattan, and she's got quite a few problems."

Williams' book is available for pre-order.
