Ashley Tisdale is back to making music and surprised fans with her first single in four years.
The "High School Musical" star released her new single titled "You're Always Here" and wrote on her Facebook page, that a portion of the proceeds from the track's sales will go to the St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
In an interview with "On Air With Ryan Seacrest," the 28-year-old singer said she wrote the uplifting tune in honor of her grandfather Arnold, who Tisdale said passed away three months prior to the release of her single. The actress said the death of her grandfather inspired her to begin writing.
"I was inspired to start writing and it was helping me heal and I would go on walks and come home and have written stuff and Chris, who produces music, sat down and produced and we wrote this song together and that's the song for my grandfather," Tisdale said during the interview.

Despite being busy with recording music, Tisdale is in the midst of planning a wedding. The bride-to-be also talked to Seacrest about her relationship with fiancé Christopher French.
"I think from the moment that him and I met, I just knew it. I was like. 'Okay, this is the guy,'" she said. "And he knew the same thing. It was just this feeling that it doesn't get any better. I can't explain it."
French proposed to Tisdale in August after only eight months of dating. The actress revealed that past relationships helped her realize what she truly wanted.
"You know, I didn't [think it'd happen that quickly]," Tisdale said. "I think I've obviously been in long relationships in the past, but I think because of knowing what I wanted, I wouldn't have gone into a relationship, if it wasn't what I wanted."
