In his interview of the November 2015 issue of Men's Fitness magazine, Liam Hemsworth bared his heart out regarding his feelings for his former flame, Miley Cyrus.
"You fall in love with who you fall in love with; you can never choose. I guess some people just come with a little more baggage," the actor says, laughing. "I mean, look-we were together five years, so I don't think those feelings will ever change. And that's good because that proves to me that it was real. It wasn't just a fling."
The Australian hunk fell in love with Miley during their 'couple' stint in Nicholas Spark's film, The Last Song in 2010. Within two years of exclusively dating on May 2012, Liam popped in the question to Miley with a giant 3.5-carat Neil Lane engagement ring. The young couple called off their engagement on September 2013, two years after the release of Liam's movie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2. Liam explains that there was never a time that he developed ill will towards his ex love.
"It really was an important part of my life and always will be. She's a free spirit. I think she'll always surprise people with what she does, but she's not a malicious person in any way. She's a young girl who wants to do what she wants to do."
Since then, The Hunger Games star has been single since calling off their engagement. He even explained that dating someone is "really difficult" since he is constantly travelling and prefers to have an intimate group of friends, that's why he barely meets anyone new.
"I don't go out to clubs or anything like that. It's tough to have a relationship in this industry, though not to the point where it makes me depressed. I'm constantly working, and I love working, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything at this point-I feel like I'm focusing on the right things and prioritizing things in the right way, and I'm a healthy, happy person," says Hemsworth.
